Misty-Beethoven

Colonel Andrew Pickens is our Tennessee Walking horse and Misty is our Carousel Horse.  Beethoven is Misty's trusty sidekick, the eagle who rides behind the cantle.   This carving was started in summer of 1994 and is just ready to paint (when I get around to it).  Meanwhile, these photos show the progress.  It's April 15 and I finished painting.  Of course, I see something to fix.

Misty is based upon a carving done by Charles Loof in the early 1900s.   She is an example of the Coney Island style of carousel horse that Loof pioneered.
